Join us downtown on Sunday, July 26th for a taste of Aboriginal culture. Representatives from Metis, First Nations and the Inuit community will share their culture, history and traditions. First Nations Tipis will be set up and Metis and Inuit camps will surround Sir Winston Churchill Square. Music, Art displays, traditional dance and hands-on activities will all be apart of this day-long event.

Come and meet a cultural representative and learn about Aboriginal traditions. Have you ever wondered about the customary dancing, Pow Wows, sweats or the traditional use of tobacco? Now is your chance to ask. Learn about all the fascinating cultures showcased at A Taste of Edmonton’s Aboriginal Day.

Have your name written in Inutituit or enjoy the dancing and story-telling by Kehewin Dance Theatre. There is truly something for everyone during this event.

Jeremey Owen, master of ceremonies, is a Metis singer and songwriter who just finished musically directing the documentary “Understanding Aboriginal Peoples”. Join him and other creative and talented performers that make up Aboriginal Day.

Aboriginal day is proud to have local and international performers gracing both the Main Stage and the A Taste of Wine Stage. Look for all your favourite Aboriginal performers, from Mishi Donovan, Taz McGillis and Marylin Rose to Jess Lee, Quinn Quinn and Jimmy and the Sleepers.
